Rutta on the left?... Probably not. I see him on right with Rudy being the odd man out, unfortunately... But probably not for long... Because Penguins, injuries and sh!t...

Why the hate for Archibald and Caggiula? I think they will end up solidifying our bottom 6. Both have good speed and are physical. Caggiula could even see time in the top 6 as he did in Chicago. He scored 25 goals his senior year at North Dakota so he isn’t just some scrub. I await your final report card on them at the end of the year!

Did you just bring up Caggs senior year at ND as a point for him to be on this team? woof. He will be starting in WBS. Archi will probably end up 4th line though, unless one of the younger guy outplay him. But unless there's injures to start, there is no room for both Archi and Cagg on the team anyways.

Yea I see Friedman or POJ playing the left side with Rutta on the right. I can actually see Ruh traded before the season starts tbh.

That was a good edition of the mailbag

I don't mind mixing up the top 6 at all and seeing how Zucker and Rackell look with Sid. I fully expect Guentzel at least to end up with Sid, but doesn't hurt to try something different when you know you can flip back in a heartbeat.

I think if Archibald doesn't grab the 12th forward spot, he gets the 13th. Unless someone like DOC grabs the 12th spot that forces a waiver move, but feels unlikely with Sully. But I don't see anyone but Archibald or Poehling at 13 since the other guys clear waivers and can play in WBS.

Hoping for a strong camp from Poehling to grab a regular spot and maybe even push Heinen.

Have to go POJ in and Ruhwedel as 7th D. Time to play him, he's been ready. Really wish there was an opportunity for Ty Smith but agree him being waiver exempt will likely hold him back.

I'm taking Blomqvist for top goalie prospect.

The problem that Nylander and Puustinen will have is while they are better PP players than Poehling, DOC, and Poulin, I'm not sure they're much if at all better as ES scorers. And those 3 are all bigger and better defensive players.

Puustinen isn't afraid to get his nose a little dirty so I give him more of a chance, but however thin the Pens system is, they have a lot of forwards of similar talent to compete with that might fit better as bottom 6 players.

Archibald didn’t get his vax like an obedient little boy so Woke Wilson will hate him forever

That might be so...but there's also the fact he's a plug at the NHL level...

Caggiula also had 13 goals in 67 games,12 goals in 55 games and 9 goals in 40 games at the NHL level! If given the chance, he would outscore anyone in your bottom 6! On top of that, he will not hesitate to drop the gloves. Which one of your forwards will?

Why is it "your bottom 6" and "which one of your forwards will?" ?

Who's your team? your team tag says Penguins...

And this issue with him is that he doesn't produce enough (aside from one season) for a top-6 role but doesn't bring anything else enough for a bottom-6 role.

You must be a lot smarter than Hextall then! How the hell did he get the G.M. job over you? I do watch a lot of hockey and believe both can help the Pens otherwise I wouldn’t say so. I’m sorry you and others here just go by stats. Maybe you need to start watching more before spouting off!

Hextall signed Caggiula to a 1-year, $750,000 2-way deal.
Hextall signed Archibald to a 1-year, $900,000 1-way deal.

These are the right kind of deals for a 13/14th forward.

Bandwagoner. A real fan would have watched them when they were on par with the California Golden Seals.

I don't want any of these lame "I wasn't born yet" excuses.

The agent passed on it or ERod?

Blame the agent all you want, but if ERod was informed of the deal, even if the Agent told him he could get more, it’s as much on ERod for not knowing his own market value

IMO, you’ve got to secure that “1 wealth securing” contract before you start getting picky and choosy

Reminds me of Denis Schroeder. Turned down 4 year 84 from the Lakers because he wanted 100+ (probably just got stuck on wanting a 9 digit deal)

Now he plays for vet minimum and mid level exemption money on year to year contracts

Dude we already seen Archibald here, he wasn't that great then and he's not that great now. And Cagg won't be playing up here unless there's major injuries. And you're the only one throwing out stats lol and from 5+ years ago lol

I heard that his agent passed on it without even telling E-Rod but I'm not sure what's going on there.

I would say Archi would be perfect for the 13th forward. And I wouldn't have Cagg at 14. I'd have other players to be called up over him. No one cares what he did at ND or 5 years ago haha

In 2010 Crosby was on pace for 130 points before injury. I think he can do that this year.
